Handicrafts – Adopt a new lifestyle

July 13, 2017 / 2629 /

Adding creative things in our life is gratification. It only makes our life so much colourful.
Our day to day life is filled with activities and work, in those, we could always incorporate things which are handcrafted. With time the artisans have diverged and come up with objects which match our present lifestyle. In The Arte Collection, we only find those articles and make them available to you. They have so much aesthetic than any mass manufactured product. Imagine walking to your study table which has a lovely picture framed in a blue pottery photo frame.India is a storehouse of very creative artisan. They are practising these art forms through generations. Every state of India has a variety to offer.Made of natural materials they offer abundant choices for home decor and products of utility for our everyday life. The range of products that can be made from a material like quartz, glass, horn dust, vegetable dye, sea shells, mango wood, brass, paper, gem stone is immense. They come in all from both vibrant and subdue.Though Indian crafts are viewed for their vibrancy like the Kutch work of Gujarat, blue pottery from Jaipur, wood work from Jodhpur, colorful ceramic from Khurja, Meenakari, gem stone work from Rajasthan, wooden toys from Chennapatna. There are an equal number of beautiful handicrafts which offer to the subtle side of the spectrum. To highlight a few are Shantineketan leather products, warli paintings, terracotta pottery from Assam- West Bengal, or the horn dust and Dogra work. Somewhere in the middle of the spectrum lies the artistic and tribal work in the form of Madhubani, Patachitra paintings from Bihar and Orissa, iron cast work from Bastar or cane work from East. The list is to name a few and definitely not exhaustive. There are even ones that are made by small communities and confined to far flung villages in the country. Black pottery from UP being one of them.

Adopting these is an enhancement to our lifestyle in a very pleasing way. Enhance a corner with an elegant Patachitra painted flower vase. They will always add the grace and elegance to your home and your life like no other. These handicrafts can be found in many Indian homes. Even though they may be dwindling due to ease of availability, however, they rarely go out of style. Interestingly Indian handicrafts have lots of acceptance beyond India. Some of us travel and while on a journey we stop to shop for the local artefacts. They adorn our homes and remind us of the vacation we went. But rarely we come across those products again. And some of the things we may have missed and they forever remain in our minds. Or we may simply like an artwork but don’t get an opportunity to buy them. Like staying in the east we rarely get to purchase a Warli painting which so prevalent in West India. At The Arte Collections, we want to bridge that gap. But we didn’t stop there. In The Arte collections, you will find various kinds of combos keeping in mind your daily activities or to decorate corners of your home. Every product is handcrafted and sourced from various parts of India. Each combo or collection has been thoughtfully made to make an ideal buy for you and a gift for friends, colleagues, and family.

As we venture into the hunt for Indian handicrafts one will see they can cater to every aspect of our lifestyle. These provide excellent alternatives to all products which are available in markets around us. They offer much more vibrancy in color and are of equally great quality. So it’s a start to a new and exotic lifestyle where you stand out from the rest around you. because you can’t buy love but you can buy handcrafted and it is the same thing. And yes a machine made product can never match the warmth of a handmade product. There is so much bliss when you light a handmade agarbatti with a unique fragrance every morning or evening. Or the look of a beautiful handmade jewelry box with gemstone work adorning your vanity.
